The Power and the Boy

| Power Boy's origin and infatuation with Supergirl are both revealed in SUPERGIRL #15 [2007]. |

Raised on the hellish world of Apokolips in the slums of Armegetto, the boy who would be Power Boy was taken from his home to serve Darkseid. He was trained as a warrior and schooled in the ways of earth culture so he could evenually be placed there as a "hero" in disguise.
The boy learned he could harness great powers by channeling love, fear, anger and pain from others. Since his abilities were empathic in nature, that same channeling could also cause him to become violent and unpredictable when fueled by anger or rage.
As a teen, the boy spied Supergirl, who had been kidnapped and brainwashed by the evil Darkseid, and immediately fell in love with the Girl of Steel. Believing his destiny was with Supergirl, the teen from Apokolips abandoned Darkseid's plans and made his way across the universe using the dimension-hopping Father Box. Taking the name “Power Boy”, he arrived on earth hoping to meet Supergirl.

Super Stalker
After Superboy's tragic death during the Infinite Crisis, the Teen Titans looked to bolster their ranks. Power Boy and Little Barda (who also hailed from Apokolips) joined the team - both hoping it would be good training and exposure. But when the Teen Titans met Luthor's new Infinity Inc. team, their "team-up" resulted in the death of Infinity team member, Eliza Harmon. Following that tragedy, both Power Boy and Little Barda left the Titans.

While on patrol, Power Boy came to the rescue of Supergirl, who was on a mission with the Outsiders. After that adventure, he began to date the Girl of Steel. Supergirl herself was unaware that Power Boy had been stalking her since his arrival on earth. After becoming unreasonably possessive, Power Boy attacked Supergirl and deluded himself into thinking he was actually saving her. Power Boy blamed his outburst on his rage channeling powers, but Supergirl didn’t accept his excuse and subsequently broke off their relationship.
Titans East Massacre
After reclaiming Titans Island on the East River, Cyborg set out to create an East Coast Titans team. After the elder Titans turned down membership, Cyborg gathered a Titans East composed of Hawk & Dove, Power Boy, Little Barda, Anima, Lagoon Boy and Son of Vulcan.
During a routine training exercise, Cyborg ordered the rest of the team to take down Power Boy. But the newest Titans were shocked to discover Power Boy's burned corpse hanging from a tree. Before the team could react, they were savagely attacked by the children of Trigon.
Due to being born on Apokolips and enhanced by Darkseid, Power Boy has superhuman strength, speed and durability. Power Boy can also form simple energy constructs and force beams. Power Boy's powers are empathic in nature; he learned he could harness great powers by channeling love, pain, hate and rage from others.

Supergirl #15 [2006]: Power Boy becomes jealous of Supergirl's friendship with Captain Boomerang. His jealousy turns to rage and he attacks the Girl of Steel. Power Boy reveals his origin on Apokolips, where he was raised to be a soldier for Darkseid and given great powers that were fueled by the anger and rage of others. Teen Titans East Special [2007]: A flashback reveals an untold tale of the New Teen Titans saving a pop star from Joker and Bizarro. Flash to the present: Cyborg seeks out his old Titans allies to become Titans once again. All the elder Titans (Nightwing, Flash, Troia, Raven, Starfire, Red Arrow and Beast Boy) turn him down. Undaunted, Cyborg gathers a Titans East composed of Hawk & Dove, Power Boy, Little Barda, Anima, Lagoon Boy and Son of Vulcan. During a routine training exercise, Cyborg orders the rest of the team to take down Power Boy. Power Boy holds his own against the heroes, until Dove takes a leadership role and starts using teamwork to reign in Power Boy. The team is then shocked to discover Power Boy’s lifeless, burned body hanging from a tree. Before the team can react, they are savagely attacked by an unseen foe shooting laser blasts from the sky. DC's "One Year Later" event occurred March of 2006. In Teen Titans #33, Superboy and Nightwing are in the thick of the Infinite Crisis world-shattering event. With Teen Titans #34, a full year has passed since the Crisis. A comatose Cyborg awakens to discover the only active Titans: Robin, Ravager and Kid Devil. Cyborg is told that the Titans had quite a few membership shake-ups during his "missing year."
Readers shared in Cyborg's confusion. Following the limited series, Infinite Crisis, every DC comic series jumped ahead by one year between February 2006 and March 2006. With DC's March books, the characters' histories resumed "one year later." During the "missing year" between Teen Titans #33 and #34, over 20 new or returning members joined the team. They would come and go, most only being on the team a few weeks before quitting or getting kicked out or simply disappearing. One team was glimpsed at in Teen Titans #34. Teen Titans #38 revealed all the "One Year Gap Titans" in a double page spread.
