TEEN TITANS III [2003-present] |
Together Again For The First Time In 2003, both Titans and Young Justice came to an end. Seeking to revive the concept of Teen Titans once again, DC decided to graduate the Young Justice characters to Teen Titans status, while some of the former Titans would find a new direction as members of the edgy, more grown up Outsiders. As a bridge between series, the changes began with Titans/Young Justice: Graduation Day, a three-issue mini-series written by Judd Winick and drawn by Alé Garza. Both the Titans and Young Justice united against a common foe: a mysterious and dangerous android from the future. The battle would lead to the deaths of both Omen and Troia – causing both teams to call it quits. This mini-series then led directly into two new series: Teen Titans and Outsiders, both launched in 2003. Crisis Complications With DC's company-wide "One Year Later" event, all the characters' histories resumed "one year later" between a single issue in March of 2006. In Teen Titans #33, Superboy and Nightwing were in the thick of the Infinite Crisis world-shattering event. With Teen Titans #34, a year had passed since the Crisis and a comatose Cyborg awakened to discover the only active Titans: Robin, Ravager and Kid Devil. Cyborg was told that the Titans had quite a few membership shake-ups during his "missing year." Readers shared in Cyborg's confusion. It was later revealed that over 20 members came and went during that missing year, as detailed in Teen Titans #38. A Team In Transition With Teen Titans #55, McKeever was joined by new regular artist, Eddy Barrows. DC Senior VP-Executive Editor Dan Didio also stepped in as editor, replacing Eddie Berganza. The new creative team challenged the Titans with a new group of legacy villains known as the Terror Titans in Teen Titans #56-60 (who were later launched into their own mini-series). At the end of that story, Ravager left the team to walk her own path. Teen Titans #61 marked the beginning of "The Red and the Blue" team of Blue Bettle and (the newly-named) Red Devil. The team also was forced to contend with the explosive return of the Titan-turned-traitor Bombshell in issues #63-64! Bombshell had cheated death and was on the run from the government, forcing the Teen Titans to aid the hostile but desperate quantum powerhouse. Next, Wonder Girl faced one of her greatset challenges in King Lycus, Son of Ares, who sought to claim the young demi-godess' powers as his own. Lycus' vendetta claimed the life of Marvin White, one of the young caretakers of Titans Tower. This caused Cassie Sandmark to call upon the strength that was her gods-given birthright for the first time, and banish Lycus with her newly self-powered lariat. It all happened in Teen Titans #62-65. Teen Titans #66-69 and Teen Titans Annual 2009 featured a membership drive, as the team was left with only four full-time members. During the drive, Brother Blood attacked and siphoned Red Devil's supernatural abilities, leaving him powerless. Robin left the team, leaving Wonder Girl in charge. Miss Martian returned with a small army of teen heroes who had just been liberated from Clock King's underground Dark Side Club. When the smoke cleared, the Teen Titans were bolstered by an all-new line-up: Wonder Girl, Blue Beetle, Miss Martian, the enigmatic Kid Eternity, the spirited new Aquagirl, the super-charged Static, the explosive Bombshell and the powerless Eddie Bloomberg. In a 5-part crossover event, the Titans, Teen Titans and the new Vigilante faced Jericho's deranged "Deathtrap." The storyline ran in Titans #12-13, Teen Titans #69 (prelude) and #70, and Vigilante #5-6. After years of melding with individuals, many of them unhinged, Jericho's mind began to fracture. Under this psychosis, the once gentle hero planned a bizarre deathtrap for his former friends. This storyline was also the end of Sean McKeever's tenure as writer. Teen Titans #72 featured the the debut of an all-new 10-page co-feature, starring Ravager. In June of 2009, DC Comics began incorporating additional pages to some of its books. This helped offset a price hike as well as showcase some second-tier DC characters in new and exciting stories. Written by Sean McKeever, Ravager's 12-part story continued her descent into darkness that had begun in the pages of the Terror Titans mini-series, also written by McKeever. In Teen Titans #72-74, the Calculator hired the Fearsome Five to help him gain revenge against the Teen Titans - whom he blamed for the death of his son, Marvin. The Titans lost two member during the conflict - as Calculator kidnapped Kid Eternity while Eddie Bloomberg gave his life saving San Francisco from nuclear annihilation.

Solicitation:It’s graduation day for the members of Young Justice and the Titans. But these young heroes won’t be hearing the familiar chords of “Pomp and Circumstance”…they’ll be marching to a funeral dirge! The fate of two teams — and two heroes — is decided in THE TITANS/YOUNG JUSTICE: GRADUATION DAY, a 3-issue miniseries written by Judd Winick (GREEN LANTERN) with art by Alé Garza (GEN13) & Trevor Scott (BLACK SUN) that ships biweekly beginning in May and leads directly into two of this summer’s hottest new launches: OUTSIDERS and TEEN TITANS!
A mysterious conglomerate offers to sponsor both the Titans and Young Justice. Before the heroes can decide whether to accept the offer, Indigo, a mysterious cyborg girl from the future, attacks — seriously wounding several members of the two teams. The battle carries over to S.T.A.R. Labs, where Superman lends the two ailing teams a helping hand. But will it be enough? It all leads to a pulse-pounding conclusion that will leave more than one longtime fan-favorite character dead — and both young teams shattered forever. The big question is: Who will die? How will the remaining heroes pick up the pieces and carry on?Synopsis: Donna Troy begins having disturbing dreams where she is a gothic warrior battling in a desolate world. In the real world, Jean Walters, Cheif Executive Officer of Optitron, assembles the members of Titans and Young Justice to San Francisco to make an offer to fund the teams. Before any decisions can be made, a mysterious cybernetic girl from the future invades the complex - and immediately engages combat with both teams. She severely injures Cyborg, Jesse Quick, Superboy, Argent, Empress, Tempest and Impulse, although Cyborg insists she didn't mean to hurt anyone.
As the Titans and Young Justice tend to their wounded, the cybernetic girl remains on the loose seeking to interface with other cybernetic beings. She invades a STAR Labs facility and encounters what appears to be Superman, before shutting down herself. The remaining Titans and Young Justice members search for the girl, but find Superman. As Lilith tries to 'read' Superman, it becomes clear it is an adroid Superman that has been awakened by the cybernetic girl. Caught by surprise, Lilith has her neck snapped by the Superman android, killing her.
The Titans and Young Justice try to contain the rogue Superman Android as Arsenal awakens the cybernetic girl who may hold the key to its defeat. While successfully awakening her, Arsenal and Robin encounter Metamorpho. Troia tries valiantly to defeat the Superman Android, but he releases a deadly heat beam directly through her chest, killing her. Indigo arrives and shuts down the Superman Android, leaving Arsenal and Nightwing to mourn the fallen Troia. At Troia's funeral, Nightwing declares to Arsenal that he is tired as seeing friends die and the Titans are officially over. Meanwhile, members of Young Justice, especially Wonder Girl, feel responsible for the tragic deaths. Elsewhere, Donna Troy awakens in a desolate world, and heeds a cry into battle.

Cover by Mike McKoneSynopsis: The story opens 18 years ago, where a wounded Slade meets Sweet Lil Worth for the first time. Flash to 10 years ago: Dick Grayson's parents die. Flash to 6 years ago: Rose Wilson is schooled at home by her mother, Lili. Flash to 5 years ago: Ravager I is killed. Flash to 3 years ago: Slade is forced to kill Jericho. Flash to 2 years ago: Cadmus attempts to clone Superman. Flash to 18 months ago: Rose deals with the death of her mother. Flash to one week ago: Bart Allen is shot by Slade.
Present day, in Chicago, Rose Wilson is having dinner with her foster parents - Margaret and Mark Madison. Rose recently got into another fight at school; apparently, this is a pattern of hers. The Madisons reprimand her, and Rose apologizes; Rose is content to have some semblance of a family for the first time in years. Her peace is shattered by the brutal arrival of Ravager III [Wade DeFarge], the man who killed her mother.
Wade kills the Madisons and sets his sights on Rose, claiming he was offered $100,000 to kill her by an anonymous source; Wade would do it for free, he declares, just to get revenge on his half-brother, Slade. Rose eludes Wade, just as the Teen Titans arrive, also claiming an anonymous source tipped them off to the fact Rose was in trouble. Bart rushes to Rose's side, but she rebuffs him, still upset over the deaths of the Madisons. Just as the Titans get the drop on Ravager, an arrow containing halothane gas explodes and knocks the team out. When they awaken, Rose and the Ravager are missing. Superboy wonders if Slade's whole family is a bunch of psychos, and even wonders why the team has a long list of 'wacko' members such as Raven, Jericho, Terra and Duela Dent. Is a questionable psychological profile a requirement? Bart defends Rose, saying she is nothing like her brothers or father - and he vows to find her.
Rose awakens in Deathstroke's lair, as he apologizes for abondoning her. With Wintergreen and his family gone, he reaches out to Rose as the only family he has left. He claims that the two of them can erase the painful memories of the Ravagers, and replace them with better ones. Rose asks for Slade's sword. She talks about how 'she just wants a family' as she clasps the sword. She approaches Ravager - who is bound to a chair - with the intent to kill him - slowly. Slade remarks, "Good girl."
Meanwhile, at the Tower, The Titans' search for Rose has turned up empty. Wonder Girl wonders who put the hit on Rose in the first place. Cyborg believes the answer is obvious - it was Slade himself.

Solicitation: You can't afford to miss DC SPECIAL: THE RETURN OF DONNA TROY, a spectacular 4-issue miniseries written by Phil Jimenez that unites artistic titans José García-López and George Perez for the first time and heralds the triumphant return of one of the DCU's most popular characters! She was raised as a goddess, linked by blood to Wonder Woman, crowned as a Titan among both mortals and gods - but Donna Troy's story is the triumph of the human spirit.Torn from Earth by the events of TITANS/YOUNG JUSTICE: GRADUATION DAY, Donna Troy has reemerged among the Titans of Myth as Troia, Goddess of the Moon. But memories of a different life haunt her as she leads the Titans of Myth in the final battle of a long campaign of interplanetary conquest, gathering weapons, warriors, and worshippers to fulfill a mission she has begun to doubt. It will take the combined might of the Outsiders and the Teen Titans to solve this cosmic mystery and reveal Troia's true destiny to her: a cosmic hero destined to unite legions against a threat to the entire universe! The RETURN OF DONNA TROY is a new beginning for Donna Troy - and a stunning prologue of things to come throughout the entire DCU!
In issue 2, A cosmic commute to an otherworldly battleground brings the Teen Titans and the Outsiders face-to-face with their long-mourned friend Donna Troy. There's just one problem: She's not the Donna they remember! In issue #3, the Teen Titans and the Outsiders fight for the soul of long-lost comrade Donna Troy in a battle that literally drives to the core of an endangered planet - and reveals a shocking secret! And in issue #4's stunning conclusion, it's the Teen Titans and the Outsiders against the power of the Titans of Myth - and Donna Troy must choose sides for once and for all!
Synopsis: When Troia was reborn, the Titans of Myth realized an old prophecy had been fulfilled. Rhea foretold of a special child that would one day save the twelve Titans from destruction. When Donna Troy was reborn after her death, the Titans of Myth - knowing Donna was that chosen child - called her back to New Chronus. There, she became Goddess of the Moon with false memories as the wife of the Titan, Coeus.
In the present, Donna lives happily with Coeus on New Chronus, but is repulsed by the Titans of Myth and their lack of compassion. When the Teen Titans and the Outsiders locate their former colleague, Troia awakens from their spell. Elsewhere, tragedy had struck. Donna's sister-in-arms, Sparta, was used by the Titans of Myth in their mad quest for power. Having been stripped of most of her power, the Titans of Myth made her an officer in their royal military. Seeking to control the planet Minosyss, the Titans sacrificed Sparta's life in battle. Athyns - the sole survivor of his planet - joins the battle against the mad Titans on the planet, Minosyss. Allied with the remaining battle-torn Minosyssians, Athyns bands together with the Teen Titans, Outsiders and Donna Troy to prevent the Titans of Myth from claiming more lives.
It is at this time that Donna learns she is a unique soul - a compression of all her various lives throughout the alternate worlds across time and space. This knowledge prompts Donna to remember each unique life throughout the multiverse. Then, the Titan Hyperion reveals the nexus point to what was once the multiverse - a gateway to all creation - to which Donna Troy alone can navigate. Sensing the impending doom of a second Crisis, the Titans of Myth implore Donna to open a safe passage to another reality. Donna complies but fearing the Mythic Titans' power lust, she opens a doorway to Tartarus where they will be trapped for eternity.
With New Chronus now barren, Donna Troy elects to become the sentinel of the floating mythical world. Now keeper of Harbinger's history orb of the entire multiverse, Donna Troy is a living focal point of the entire cosmos.
