Team Titans Plans that didn't happen: Marv's Plans

The Team Titans Leader: Original Plans

The biggest switcheroo in regards to the Team Titans was the identity of their leader. It was established that this character was male, a former Titan, and knew Donna Troy. It was originally supposed to be Danny Chase. But plans changed in the wake of Zero Hour and the imminent cancellation of the title - so the Team Titans leader was revealed to be Monarch (formerly Hawk, a Teen Titan at one time). This allowed them to tie the Team Titans demise into Zero Hour.

"That was part of the idea of making Danny Chase tolerable," editor Jonathan Peterson admitted in a 2005 interview with titanstower.com. "We could make him like John Conner from Terminator 2. He goes from whiny kid to leader of the rebellion."

"Each Team Titans group is slightly different. They're much harder-edged, and won't be wearing the same costumes that we've seen them in. One of their goals is to stop Lord Chaos' troops in the present, but it's not a one-note book-they'll be going after other situations, too."

Since the futuristic groups were all formed in honor of the original Titans, Wolfman says one of them will look exactly like the original Teen Titans from the 1960s, with Speedy, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Aqualad and Robin. "What that group looks like, and what that group is, are two different things. The only difference is, this Robin is the Robin of today. Except for Robin, they aren't the sweet little kids they appear to be-they just happen to look like the original Titans," Wolfman says.
